When I was a child, there was this abandoned house near my grandmother’s that was known for having snakes. I had never been inside but I imagined it having snakes all around and even hanging from the ceiling and covering the floor. This visual made its relevance to my life when I told myself that I would not make myself a home where I felt I would be living with snakes. I wouldn’t want to make a home where I was expected to feel inferior. I wouldn’t want to make myself a home shared with an enemy. To do so would be disastrous and dangerous.

You cannot change an enemy nor should you trust an enemy to change. Value yourself enough to dissociate. Protecting yourself and your peace is crucial so discernment is most necessary and I feel it’s something that should be prayed for daily. I’ve long learned the benefits but am still learning the consequences of not sticking to the regimen.

You want to live without that uneasy feeling that something isn’t right with what surrounds you? Then ask the universe to remove any evil and foul deed from trying to entangle itself around you. Don’t cease doing this either. You must order your protection because oftentimes, it’s the ones closest to you—and the ones closest to them.

Surround yourself with those full of love and integrity. Focus only on what matters and leave the nonsensical out of the life and legacy you are creating. Get the snakes out of your house and welcome in some peace.
